Over the last 20 years, aesthetic medical technology has grown at an explosive rate. Developments in the skincare and wellness industry have resulted in a market that is literally flooded with new products, services and procedures. With so many options available to revive the body, mind and spirit, becoming an informed consumer can be daunting. Anti-aging cream, skin laser treatments, chemical peels, Botox injections, and cosmetic surgery – how does one sift through the plethora of information available and make the best choice? What really works, and for whom? Which professionals can you trust? Established in 1998 by Michael B. Dr. Stevens is a board certified plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic surgery. He is nationally and internationally renowned as a surgeon, innovator and educator. The CreekSide model arose from his passion for restoring damaged skin to its natural health and beauty. He is recognized for the introduction and application of a variety of innovations in the Central Valley, both surgical and non-surgical, including the Obagi skin products, ZO® Skin Health, the Blue Peel, Botox, and laser skin resurfacing. What is a

Medical Spa?

In general, a medical spa is a blend between a medical clinic and a day spa, a facility that operates under the supervision of a medical doctor. Medical spas can treat facial and skin conditions like acne and acne scars, sun damage, brown spots and redness. Treatments can vary between spas, but you can usually get laser treatments, micro-dermabrasion, chemical peels and injections to reduce wrinkles. With a professional staff of registered nurses and laser medical estheticians, CreekSide Spa Skin & Laser Center is tightly integrated into Dr. Stevens’ aesthetic surgery practice, and combines pampering spa services with medical-grade skincare and laser treatments. CreekSide also provides all the services you might expect from a destination spa including facials, signature massage, nail care, semi-permanent cosmetics, and a variety of packages perfect for yourself, or that someone special.

What should you look for

in a Medi-Spa?

Because of the nature of medical spa services, one of the most important factors in choosing a facility is the experience and qualifications of the staff. The supervising physician should be board certified, knowledgeable and personable, and available for questions or consultation or to see a medical spa client when needed.
Look for longevity, so you can feel assured the Medi-Spa will be there tomorrow. Clients also should expect a comfortable experience in an attractive and relaxed setting, one that maintains the organization and cleanliness of a medical office.
